Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do we find teaching or teacher support?
A: There are many good professional teachers around the country. Morris! Hey! will be compiling a list of those they know, but, in the meantime, as well as contacting us, you might try the Folk Educators group.
Q: Do we need to buy an accessory pack?
A: No, of course you do not, that provides the easy option. You can make sticks from broom handles and hankies from sheets. Bells are more tricky, there you may be able to find sources of these.
Answers to many of these questions and more, will be found in the booklet.
Q: How easy is it to teach Morris Dancing?
A: If you have experience of teaching dance, it can be straightforward. Mike says, “As an experienced dancer myself, I was amazed at how much easier it was to teach with a video.”
Q: Where do I find out about local Morris groups?
A: Main Morris organisations are: The Morris Ring and the Morris Federation. Both have side finder pages/sections on their websites. With these, you can type in your town or postcode and it will give you a list of local sides.
Morris! Hey! will be compiling our own lists of Morris teams who we are happy to recommend to you.
